Lead the AI and Data Science section in spearheading sophisticated and pioneering projects that fundamentally transform decision-making processes, drive substantial business improvements, and bolster competitive edge in the market. This role is pivotal in orchestrating the adoption and integration of cutting edge artificial intelligence and data analytics technologies across operations, aligning these innovations with the overarching strategic goals, the visionary agenda of the Dubai Government, and the ambitious targets set by the UAE National AI Strategy. This position requires an expert who not only understands the technical landscape but also appreciates the nuances of applying AI in a governmental context to enhance public services and infrastructure.
Key results accountabilities
- Aligning AI objectives with strategic business goals, ensuring all AI projects adhere to ethical AI practices and contribute positively to the economic and social fabric of Dubai and the broader UAE.
- Ensure the section adheres to standards, policies, and procedures for technology governance. Elevate governance frameworks to cover emerging AI technologies and data management practices, ensuring robust cybersecurity and compliance measures.
- Actively contribute to submissions for government awards. Represent the client at national and international artificial intelligence events and conferences to promote achievements and innovations in AI.
- Enhance visibility and influence in global AI communities.
- Oversee the planning and execution of AI programs and projects, ensuring they align with strategic goals.
- Implement project management policies on AI projects, fostering collaboration across departments to enhance service delivery and adoption of AI technologies.
- Lead the development of AI competencies within RTA by identifying and integrating leading international development programs and best practices. Manage and mentor a team of AI specialists and analysts, enhancing their capabilities through targeted training and professional growth opportunities.
- Develop and maintain AI architecture practices in sync with the organisation's enterprise architecture.
- Ensure seamless integration of AI systems and contribute effectively to the corporate architecture review team to support continuous digital transformation.
- Conduct ongoing research to stay ahead of the latest developments in AI. Drive innovation by identifying and implementing cutting-edge solutions to enhance operational efficiency and responsiveness to public needs.
- Lead initiatives to broaden the understanding and integration of AI. Organize training sessions, workshops, and events in collaboration with relevant departments to increase AI literacy and utilization.
- Master's or bachelor’s in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
- At least 12 years of progressive experience in AI roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position within a large, complex organization.
- Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinizing, improving, and streamlining complex work processes.
- Computer-literate performer with extensive software proficiency covering wide variety of applications.
- Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.
