Are you an organised accountant who have experience managing financial transactions, records, and reporting? Do you have strong communication skills in English, both spoken & written? If yes, you might be the one we are looking for! 

Our client: 
Our client is a major international shipbroking company providing chartering, sale & purchase, and new building contracting services. In addition to their main office in Oslo, they provide shipping services from 13 offices world-wide. 

 

They are currently seeking a meticulous and organised Accountant to manage our financial transactions, records, and reporting; as well as general administration/ operational work in their Dubai office. The ideal candidate should possess a strong accounting background, be able to handle full sets of accounts and annual audits, have knowledge of UAE VAT & taxes, a flexible personality with a can-do attitude, good communication skills and a commitment to accuracy.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Financial reporting: prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements etc. Segregation of transactions into departments and down to individuals may be required.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with corporate governance and all accounting, tax, statutory, legislative requirements.
  • Bank Reconciliation, handling transactions and expense tracking
  • Preparation & assist in development of annual budget. 
  • Audit Support to Auditors during Audit
  • Monthly Reporting to Global counterparts
  • Tax compliance: prepare and file tax returns, ensure compliance with relevant tax laws & regulations
  • Handling payroll for the office
  • General day-to-day administration & operational work around the office

 

Requirements:

  • Min 5 years of work experience in the UAE as an Accountant
  • Professional certification or a degree in accounting or finance 
  • Strong communication skills in English, both spoken & written. 
  • Strong analytical, communication & interpersonal skills, self-initiative & independent with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to start work immediately is a bonus
  • Experience in multi-currency accounting is a bonus.
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Accounting software is a big bonus.
