About the Job:

As the Bar Manager/Head of Bars, you are responsible to manage the bar and the bar team in an effective, approachable and proficient manner. You must ensure that all the guests and regulars are served in accordance to guidelines by the authorities in regards to the service of alcohol. You will be also be expected to contribute to the consistency and enhancement of the restaurant beverage and cigar lists.

You will need be to on top of all training and development of your respective team members to be more sharpened, equipped, knowledgeable and making sure that the team is striving on highest possible satisfaction in every operation.

You must be able to provide an efficient, engaging, friendly and charismatic service to all our guests and patrons. As the head of the department, you must be able to manage the entire team and meet the operational standards with consistency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead on improving beverage selection for the restaurant while ensuring the highest quality of selected cocktails and mocktails are according to current market’s trend and best value considerations
  • Coordinate with Wine Department on forecasting, reviewing and organizing the perfect selections of the cigar items for the restaurant too
  • Always making sure to observe on all respective and related authority’s protocols and ensuring that they are always met without any fail
  • Coordinate with the Kitchen Department on analyzing the perfect food and beverage pairing for the satisfaction of all the guests
  • Vigilant on ensuring correct pricing, punching of items and spirits listings all the times
  • Ensuring that every inventory on daily/weekly/monthly basis are perfectly done without discrepancies
  • Ensure adherence to every stock control procedure and liaise smoothly with suppliers and build rapport with every sales representative to achieve consistency on the required products
  • Consistently contribute on building the sales forecast and schedules to achieve the desired productivity operational targets
  • Giving emphasis on all admin and operational related filing, recruitments and new joiners on boarding and in depth-training of bar department
  • During operations, ensure great recommendation and matching of spirits according the guests’ preference most especially for the regular and VIP guests in order to provide a 100% enchanting and memorable gastronomy dining experience
  • Prioritize on developing or enhancing the training and development plans for the entire team by conducting regular exams to refresh and refurbish their beverage knowledge
  • Train all team members on correct way to up sell spirits to enhance the guest’s overall dining experience
  • To follow the job chats, probation evaluation and performance review as per the calendar cycle as timely as possible
  • To maintain the highest level of alertness and attentiveness demeanor at all times in as to remain calm during periods of heavy business volumes

Requirements to Look At…

  • Must have vast knowledge of different restaurant beverages and cigar lists
  • Must have a proven track record of working for high-end restaurants
  • Must have be friendly and efficient in providing excellent service to guests and patrons
  • Management experience or more education is generally preferred.
  • Strong understanding of business management and accounting principles.
  • Excellent computer, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts.
  • Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources.
  • Decisiveness.
