Our Client:

Our client is providing an advanced transport network for the people of Dubai. They have been high on the government’s agenda, which is evident from its initiatives to enhance the public transport facilities and improve roads across the emirate to make travel safer and smoother. Our client is responsible for planning and providing the requirements of transport, roads & traffic in the United Arab Emirates.


Job Purpose:
To develop and implement QHSE best practices to minimize the quality, health, safety and environmental risks by ensuring adherence to all government laws, regulations and company or industry environment and occupational health and safety guidelines and contractual requirements throughout Agency’s Lifecycle, from Concept Phase to Decommissioning and Disposal Phase.

Key Results Accountabilities:
  • Working environment for implementation of successful cross-departmental coordination within the Agency and across other RTA Departments.
  • Disaster and emergency preparedness processes (internal and external) for continuity of operation through maintaining continuity in supply systems, with alternate arrangements.
  • Coordinate and support incident investigations of local incidents.
  • Adequate staffing and training of resources to support QHSE requirements.
  • Staff training for HSE policies, practices and procedures.
  • Environmental aspects with HSE standards.
  • QHSE roles and responsibilities within the QHSE Unit are assigned.
  • Implementation of Remedial recommendations resulting from audits.
  • Current & latest legislation requirements for good working practices at all levels of Agency operations.
  • HSE culture throughout RTA.
  • Effective Management systems performance.
  • Collects training information from the performance appraisal forms for identification and designing individual training programs.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemistry or Environmental Science.
  • Goal-driven leader who maintains a productive climate and confidently motivates, mobilizes, and coaches employees to meet high performance standards.
  • Results-driven achiever with exemplary planning and organizational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation.
  • Flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) requirements, of the requirements for the use of personal protective equipment for chemical hazards, requirements for hazardous substances, and the impact of hazardous waste operations on worker safety and health.
  • Suitable professional Occupational Health, Safety and / or Environmental qualification(s) is preferred (e.g. NEBOSH, NCRQ, IEMA, BSC, NVQ, etc.)
  • Knowledge of principles, concepts, and requirements of environmental risk assessment.
  • Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinizing, improving, and streamlining complex work processes.
  • Computer-literate performer with extensive software proficiency covering wide variety of applications.
  • Innovative problem-solver who can generate workable solutions and resolve complaints.
  • Licensed Engineer (Professional Engineer PE) would be a plus.
  • 7 years of QHSE experience, at least seven years in managerial role.
