Our client

Our client is providing an advanced transport network for the people of Dubai. They have been high on the government’s agenda, which is evident from its initiatives to enhance the public transport facilities and improve roads across the emirate to make travel safer and smoother. Our client is responsible for planning and providing the requirements of transport, roads & traffic in the United Arab Emirates.

 

Job Purpose

Responsible for implementing and governing application governance frameworks (AGF) standards, policies, and procedures and ensuring improving the compliance of client technology departments.

 

Key Results Accountabilities

  • Analyses and recommends improvements to the Application Governance framework (AGF) policies, procedures, and standards. Manages the implementation of large scale governance improvement plans.
  • Executes and plans activities to manage and implement complex and client-wide AGF programs and projects to close AGF control gaps.
  • Providing in-depth analysis of application governance strategy elements to contribute to client technology governance strategy and roadmap formation.
  • Ensures that suppliers adhere to AGF requirements and provides the necessary guidance to implement control requirements throughout the project lifecycle, and report supplier compliance with AGF on periodic basis.
  • Monitors the compliance of technology department applications against application governance framework requirements and reports compliance KPIs to AGF governance committee.
  • Manages and coordinates AGF control assessment with application owners and provide guidelines and support to application team on controls, control description, templates, compliance steps and reporting requirements.
  • Monitors and assesses application supporting evidence in terms of relevance and completeness and ensure appropriate recording of evidence in centralized repository.
  • Provides expert advice on AGF controls, standards, and policies and conducts trainings and awareness sessions to improve awareness about AGF practices.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with the position as appropriate.
  • Supports the section manager with conducting risk assessments within the technology quality assurance section, analyses potential risk events, quantifying and documenting the probability of occurrence and the impact on the client and recommends contingency plans.
  • Monitors and advises on AGF compliance requirements based on internal policies, procedures and other associated frameworks, and ensure appropriate alignment between AGF and any updates on internal policies and procedures.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of governance automation using GRC tool and provide expert advice into the tool usage.
  • Encourages self-assessment practices and reports on self-assessment effectiveness and adoption to AGF committee.
  • Coordinates and facilitates AGF assessment process with either external or internal assessor and ensure effective communication between assessors and application teams / application.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering from a recognized university with minimum 11 years of experience.
  • Results-driven achiever with exemplary planning and organizational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation.

  • Knowledge on latest developments of service management practices.

  • 10 years of working experience.
  • Resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with customers and colleagues.

  • Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge in ISO, ITIL, COSO, and other governance standards such as COBIT Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT).
