About the position: 

A Technical Sales Specialist is a versatile professional who is responsible for driving the sales and growth of the company's Geoscience and Data Management Software products. The role requires a combination of technical, sales, and customer relationship management skills, as well as a deep understanding of geoscience workflows, data management best practices, and data science methodologies.


One of the main responsibilities of a Technical Sales Specialist is to work closely with the sales team and potential clients to identify their needs and requirements and to develop tailored software solutions that can address their specific challenges. This involves providing technical expertise and guidance on the capabilities and benefits of the company’s Geoscience and Data Management Software products, as well as conducting product demonstrations and technical presentations to showcase the value of these solutions.


In terms of data management expertise, a Technical Sales Specialist should have a strong understanding of best practices for managing geoscience data. They should be able to provide guidance and support to clients on how to streamline their data management workflows, ensure data quality and consistency, and enable collaboration and sharing of data across teams and departments.


Additionally, a Technical Sales Specialist should also have expertise in data science methodologies and techniques, such as machine learning, and statistical analysis. They should be able to provide guidance and support to clients on how to leverage these techniques to extract insights and value from their geoscience data, and to develop predictive models that can improve exploration and production outcomes.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and understanding their evolving needs and preferences.
  • Collaborating with the sales team to identify and pursue potential sales opportunities, and to develop targeted sales strategies.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and understand their needs and pain points.
  • Develop a strong sales pitch that effectively communicates the technical capabilities and benefits of our Geoscience and Data Management Software products to potential clients.
  • Collaborate with the Middle East and Asia Sales Team to identify and pursue potential sales opportunities.
  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations and technical presentations to potential clients to showcase the value of our Geoscience and Data Management Software products.
  • Provide excellent customer service to existing clients to build long-term relationships and encourage repeat business.
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and providing input to the product development team on new features and functionalities that can enhance the value of the company’s software solutions. 


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience from the E&P sector: either on a service company (software provider), or in an operating company.
  • Degree in a Geoscience
  • Familiarity with Petrel and other subsurface software packages highly advantageous, as is an understanding of Geology and Geophysics workflows within the Oil and Gas industry

  •  Comfortable in a client-facing and networking role
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Reliable, responsible, and independent
  • Willing to travel
