About the Company

Global maritime excellence is their hallmark ever since the company was born, to continue doing so they need an Offshore Director who will spearhead the overall offshore operations.

About the Position

You will lead and set the strategy for the  offshore division where you will have the full P&L responsibility across global offshore business units.There is pressure to meet deadlines in an environment laced with a wide variety of problems and unexpected interruptions. Lastly, you need to obtain tangible and measurable results despite opposition or resistance to your accomplishment. It is extremely important that you have good understanding about vessels of all sizes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide business leadership and support to the operations team across the group to enable them to provide a high level of service in order to meet the company targets
  • Review and ensure adequacy and consistency of operational structure within and across offshore business units
  • Lead and ensure your team develops, communicates and ensures the implementation of operations strategy including class, machinery & equipment, dry-docking, planned maintenance and technological advancement of the fleet in line with the company strategic plan that will stimulate continuous improvement of all operational activities throughout the group
  • Formulate strategy for all group purchases including local and international purchases and lead the development of framework agreements with suppliers
  • Ensure the common understanding and use of the best operational practices and reporting throughout the Group in order to maximize the fleet utilization
  • Ensure budgets are prepared based on solid data and plan
  • Monitor and analyze the cost and apply lessons learned across the fleet
  • Produce accurate, concise and comprehensive reports in a timely manner to keep the management up-to-date on the operational performance 

The Perfect Candidate

You are someone who has drive, assertion and the ability to communicate with others in a logical manner. You should be prepared to meet opposition and resistance to ideas, and pressure others when deadlines have to be met. You should be prepared to work within the broad parameters of the organization as the work environment is full of variety and changes. You have to have friendly approach and the ability to influence and persuade others are important to the function. You should be a self-starter, competitive, imaginative, enthusiastic, self-confident, inspiring, logical, systematic and precise.

 

You need to have the following:

  •  Post Graduate Qualification in Management Discipline
  • Chief Engineer background is an advantage
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a BUSINESS LEADING operational role ashore out of which 5 years to be in a similar position
  • Overall technical and operational knowledge of offshore support vessels
  • Experience in subsea sector is an advantage
