Our client is providing an advanced transport network for the people of Dubai. They have been high on the government’s agenda, which is evident from its initiatives to enhance the public transport facilities and improve roads across the emirate to make travel safer and smoother. Our client is responsible for planning and providing the requirements of transport, roads & traffic in the United Arab Emirates.

Job Purpose

To supervise and manage the Integrated Transportation Information Center (ITIC) and analyze and report on different types of collected transportation data and information in order to derive strategic transportation indicators and provide inputs to the specialized transportation planning studies and policies.

Key Results Accountabilities

• Perform any other related task as assigned.
• Help in identifying reports “periodic and specialized” and indicators that can be generated based on ITIC database, and create the required reports and indicators in close coordination with concerned specialists.
• Participate in research and define the relationship between urban planning activities and transportation system and assessing the level of integration between different transportation-land use modes based on ITIC database and relevant planning concepts and tools.
• Effectively communicate with multi-disciplinary staff ranging from transport planners & modellers, urban planners, and different technical operators to optimize ITIC and to provide required indicators and inputs for different transportation studies and policies.
• Participate in the establishment and development of an effective, multi-modal “Integrated Transportation Information Center, ITIC” for Dubai, establish and manage a clear framework for streamlining data collection, upgrade and exchange.
• Identify main issues and problems related to ITIC data collection and analysis and suggest ways to effectively deal with these issues and problems.
• Handle technical coordination with sectors/agencies and potentially external entities (as applicable/ possible) in relation to existing/planned transportation systems in order to ensure full synergy and to identify transportation data to be collected from these systems and establish ways of integrating it with the ITIC.
• Manage all activities related to multi-modal transportation data collected from all relevant systems implemented agencies/sectors and maintain an updated system.
• Conduct systematic checks to assure the quality and accuracy of the collected data.
• Supervise activities, staff and day-to-day operations of Integrated Transportation Information Center.
• Provide information and indicators from ITIC that needed for publications, annual books, media articles, etc.
• Prepare and present reports and presentations about ITIC to higher management and external delegates.
• Suggest ways of analysing data quantitatively, qualitatively, and geospatially, “using relevant tools such as GIS”to optimize the use and added value of the data in preparing and evaluating transportation planning studies and reports.

• Master’s degree Engineering: Civil, Transportation Planning from a recognized university.
