Our client: 

We are hiring on behalf of a prominent metal trading company headquartered in Kuwait. Specialising in the distribution of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, they operate across a diverse global market, serving clients in Europe, India, the Middle East, Africa, America, the United Kingdom, South America, and the Far East. With a commitment to excellence and a focus on delivering high-quality products, they have established themselves as a leader in the industry.


They are looking for a General Manager to oversee all staff, budgets, and operations . General Manager’s responsibilities include formulating an overall strategy, managing people, and establishing policies. The ideal candidate should be an excellent communicator, capable of delegating tasks and collaborating seamlessly across different departments. Ultimately, the General Manager should be driven by a desire to lead our clients business in order to maximise productivity and efficiency.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing daily business operations.
  • Developing and implementing growth strategies.
  • Training low-level managers and staff.
  • Creating and managing budgets.
  • Improving revenue for the company.
  • Providing solutions for employees’ hiring.
  • Evaluating performance and productivity.
  • Analysing accounting and financial data.
  • Researching and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Generating reports and giving presentations.


Required skills:

  • Proven success in a managerial role.
  • Strong decision-making ability.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and achieve financial plans.
  • Ability to motivate and lead employees, and hold them accountable.
  • Strong working knowledge of operational procedures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Professional having more than 20 years of experience in Sales and Marketing, Business Development, Procurement, International Sourcing, Administration, Logistics and Shipping, Supply Chain management, Cross Trade, Import and Export etc. of all grades of Ferrous Scrap, Non-Ferrous Scrap Metals, Paper and Plastics Scrap and other Miscellaneous Scrap etc. throughout Europe, India, Middle East, Africa, America, United Kingdom, South America, Far East and Subcontinent ports.

  • Shipping, Logistics, Supply chain Management, Import and Export
  • Vendor development and Operations Management
  • Financial Management and Budgeting
  • Warehouse Management
  • Banking, LC, Credit Control, Credit collections and Expenses Control

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business management or a related field.
  • Experience in conducting performance evaluations.
  • Working knowledge of human-resources processes.
